This integration guide shows you how to send new BatchLeads properties to the REI/kit real estate wholesaling CRM via a Zapier integration.
Use Cases #
BatchLeads is one of the leading platforms for high quality property and owner data. REI/kit is a leading real estate investment CRM and omni-channel outbound marketing platform.
You can combine the two platforms to get property and owner data from BatchLeads and automatically send those property owners to the REI/kit CRM to manage your outbound marketing campaigns using Email, SMS, RVM, Postcards, or Calls.
Without an integration with the REI/kit CRM, you would periodically need to export those contacts from BatchLeads as a CSV file, and then manually add them to REI/kit using the CRM import tool.
This integration allows you to automatically send your new Contacts from BatchLeads into the REI/kit CRM without the need for any manual intervention.
Prerequisites #
BatchLeads Account #
BatchLeads is a leading provider of high quality property data as well as skip traced property owner data.
If you do not already have a BatchLeads account, you can create one here.
REI/kit CRM Enabled Premium Account #
REI/kit includes a real estate wholesaling CRM for managing contacts, and outbound marketing campaigns using five outbound marketing channels (Email, SMS, RVM, Postcards, Calls), as well as easy to create SEO optimized websites for your real estate wholesaling business useful for inbound lead generation.
Learn more about all of the features of the REI/kit here.
Free Zapier Account #
Zapier is software that helps different software applications talk to each other through integrations called Zaps.
You can get a Zapier account here.
Let’s get started.
Step 1: Accept the REI/kit Zapier Integration Invite #
Request an invitation to use the REI/kit Zapier Integration (if you have not done so already) by clicking on the following link:
https://zapier.com/developer/public-invite/175636/e0a999b86271d33019dbd633e275b695/
Click the “Accept Invite & Build a Zap” button to accept the invitation.
Step 2: Generate REI/kit Zapier API Key #
Once you have your premium REI/kit account, if you have not generated a Zapier API key before, you need to generate it in your REI/kit profile settings.
Do this only once. If you already have a Zapier API Key generated in that field, do not regenerate it, or your existing Zaps will stop working. Instead you will use your existing Zapier API Key.
Step 3: Accept the BatchLeads Zapier Integration Invite #
You can find the BatchLeads Zapier Integration invite in the Integrations sub menu of your BatchLeads account profile.
Copy the link under the label “Invite People” which is the invite link to the BatchLeads Zapier application, and paste it into your browser.
This will take you to the Zapier website where you can accept the invitation just like you did for the REI/kit Zapier application in Step 1.
Click the “Accept Invite & Build a Zap” button to accept the invitation.
Step 4: Create the BatchLeads to REI/kit Zap in Zapier #
Once you have accepted both of the invitations, you can then begin creating your Zap to move data automatically between the two platforms.
You will create your Zap in your Zapier.com dashboard.
Create Zap #
From the main Zaps section of your Zapier dashboard, click on the “+ Create Zap” button to begin.
Configure the New Property Trigger #
The first step in creating a Zap requires you to configure a Trigger.
A Trigger is an event that starts the Zap. In this instance, the Trigger will be when a New Property is added in your BatchLeads account.
Type in “BatchLeads” into the Trigger search box to find the BatchLeads Integration app.
Select the BatchLeads app that has the “Latest” tag to make sure that you connect to the most recent version of their Zapier application.
Choose Event #
In the Trigger App & event configuration, click into the “Choose an Event” field, and select “New Property Added”.
Then click the “Continue” button.
Choose Account #
In the “Choose Account” section you will need to Sign In into your BatchLeads account using your BatchLeads Zapier API key from your BatchLeads Integrations settings.
Note: If you have previously connected another Zap to this BatchLeads account, then you will not need to sign in, and will just select the existing connection to BatchLeads.
First, from your BatchLeads account integrations page, you will need to copy your Zapier API Key.
Now that you have copied the API key from BatchLeads, in Zapier you can click on the “Sign in” button to begin connecting to your BatchLeads account.
Doing so will pop up Zapier’s BatchLeads API Key dialog box.
In this dialog box you will paste your Zapier API key that you copied from your BatchLeads integrations page.
Then click “Yes Continue” to finish the sign in process.
If your sign in through the Zapier BatchLeads API key dialog box is successful, or if you were previously logged in, in the next screen you can click “Continue” to finish setting up the trigger.
This will take you to the next section which is to Test your trigger.
Test Trigger #
When you click the “Test trigger” button, Zapier will look into BatchLeads, and will try to pull out a Property with Owner to test with.
If you have not yet added any Properties in your BatchLeads, before you click on the “Test trigger” button, go to BatchLeads and add a property.
If you have at least one Property in BatchLeads, click the “Test trigger” button which will retrieve a Property with Owner info to test with.
Select a Property and click the “Continue” button to continue with the next step, configuring a Zapier Action.
Configure an Action #
An action is what you tell Zapier to perform after it has been triggered. In the case of this Zap, the action will be to send the newly created Contact in Mojo dialer to a list in the REI/kit CRM.
In the Action Search box enter REIkit to find the REI/kit Zapier Integration app and select it.
Choose App Event #
Click into the “Event” search box, and choose the “Import Contact” event listed.
Then click the “Continue” button to go to the next step.
Choose Account #
In the “Choose Account” section you will need to Sign In into your REI/kit account using the Zapier API key that you created in your REI/kit account profile settings earlier in STEP 2 of this guide.
Note: If you have previously connected another Zap to this REI/kit account, then you will not need to add this API key, and will just select the existing connection to REI/kit.
Click on the “Sign in” button to begin connecting the account with your API Key.
Doing so will pop up the API Key dialog box.
In this form you will enter the Zapier API key from your REI/kit settings.
Once you have entered the API key and hit “Yes Continue”, you should successfully sign in.
You can then click the blue “Continue” button to begin setting up your action step.
Set Up Action #
This is where you will do the most important work, mapping your BatchLeads Property & Owner fields to the REI/kit CRM Contact fields.
You will map all of the fields by clicking into each REI/kit CRM field, then searching for the name of the corresponding BatchLeads field in the “Search all available fields” search box.
The most important fields to map include, name, mailing address as well as the property address.
Note: You can also add email address and phone numbers to your mapping, though they may not exist unless you chose a skip traced trigger event in the BatchLeads trigger configuration.
Tips #
One common mistake while mapping fields is to try to perform a search in the “Enter text or insert data” field identifying the CRM field, instead of clicking into the “Search all available fields” search box before starting the search.
Once you have finished mapping your fields, click on the blue “Continue” button to test your action.
On this screen you will get a summary screen that shows you the fields that you have mapped, and the fields that you haven’t. (You don’t have to map every field, though you should map as many as possible)
Test Action #
If you are satisfied with your mapping, you can click on the “Test action” button to test your action.
Clicking on the “Test action” button will send the test Property and Owner from BatchLeads to REI/kit using the mapping that you just configured.
You can now check for your Contact in your REI/kit CRM to which you sent the Contact.
If you are happy with the results, you can then click the “Publish Zap” button in the Zapier interface, to complete the Zap.
Now you have an Untitled Zap representing your BatchLeads to REI/kit CRM integration.
You should rename this Zap to something meaningful such as “BatchLeads New Property to REI/kit CRM”.
This completes your Zap setup.
Any new BatchLeads property should now flow into your REI/kit CRM.
Additional Notes, Next Steps #
This Zap integration guide uses the initial New Property Added event to trigger the Zap:
Your next step could be for you to use one of the “Property is Skip Traced” BatchLead trigger events (Email or Phone Available) which can be an even more useful integration.
When you send a property owner with an email or phone, then you can use the full Omni-Channel campaign capabilities of REI/kit to send email as well as SMS, Ringless Voicemail, and even make calls to your contacts beyond sending postcards.
