What is Ringless Voicemail? #
Ringless voicemail is a marketing technology that allows you to put an audio recording on someone’s mobile phone voicemail, without ringing their phone.
The recipient gets a missed call notification, as well as the voicemail, but their phone does not ring, so it seems to them like they just missed your call.
Why is RVM so Great? #
Just like with text messages that get an incredibly high response rate, there is a very high call-back rate for delivered voicemail messages. This means that your marketing dollars get you in front of more leads faster for each dollar spent versus the slow, inefficient, and costly direct mail route.
The whole point of all marketing is to get the lead on the phone so that you can close them, and even faster than calling the lead directly which requires calling 8 hours a day, this is the quickest way to enable that conversation where the leads call you.
Why Would You Choose to use RVM Instead of Cold Calling? #
Ringless voicemail allows you to get your message in front of more people faster than cold calling, improving the efficiency of your lead generation.
Because RVM is a non-intrusive calling technology, one of the other huge benefits of RVM is that it changes the power dynamic of cold calling shifting it from the called person to the person leaving the voicemail.
Think of it this way. When you are cold calling, the person on the other line is already on the defensive from the first word. On their mind is “why is this person interrupting me?” On the other hand, when they are calling you back, it is now you who they are interrupting.
What Types of Phones Does Ringless Voicemail Work on? #
At this time, just like with text messaging, we are only able to send to mobile phone numbers.
When to Use Ringless Voicemail? #
The best time to use Ringless Voicemail is when you are prepared to receive calls, and know how to close them.
RVM is so effective at generating call volume, that you will need to have the physical ability to answer all of the calls that come back.
Yes, many of the return calls will be “why are you calling me” or “take me off your list” as is expected in any cold outbound marketing. Always honor those requests by clicking the Do Not Call button in the CRM, and then putting the lead in Archived status.
But a small percentage of them will be genuinely interested, and you will already have them on the phone to take them to the next step in your funnel.
When Not to Use Ringless Voicemail? #
If you are not prepared to receive calls and don’t know how to close them on the phone, then you should not use RVM campaigns.
